Thoughts on Gunpla: January 2012

Oh Bandai. Just when I said I was going on a break, you come out of nowhere with these announcements that makes my wallet cringe… Anyways, on to news, I haven’t done these in a while haha. First big news, Master Grade Unicorn Banshee! I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who saw this coming, but I’m also pretty sure that this is the OVA version since it comes with the claw and the cannon. (is it a cannon?) Still not sure if it comes with the beam magnum and shield. Pictures are not clear enough to see if the psycoframe will be in clear orange or a frosty orange. Since I haven’t picked up the Full Armored Unicorn yet, this will be a worthy replacement. This comes out in march for 5500 yen.

Anyways, I’m pretty sure that you guys are waiting for several reviews at this point; the MG Delta Plus, HG Jesta, and others. Truth be told, I’m going on a hiatus in case you haven’t notice. There are several reasons for this: the first is that school is starting, and I really need to concentrate for this semester. The second is because all of my gunpla are currently packed away in preparation for the move my family is having within a month or two. Because they are packed away, I honestly don’t feel like taking them out again and reviewing them. Once we have moved and settled down and I’m not swamped with homework, it’s back to gunpla business for me. I’ll still be around commenting and things like that, but for posting stuff, it can be a while. I’m hoping to start again by mid February or spring break.

Again, Happy Chinese New Year. What is it, year of the dragon? Here’s to a fun and great year!

HG Jesta Complete

Sorry for the absent, but I have been pretty lazy at my house. Been enjoying the new year somewhat so I told myself to get Jesta finished by this week. It might look very nice in the picture, but there are some imperfections every where in the blue colors, and the shield has some paint crumple like tin foil but that happened during the topcoating process. Also my first time removing seam lines, but they’re still kinda faint haha. I’m going to do a review of this guy soon, Delta Plus is going to be delayed until the moving of houses is complete and I’m all settled down.

This month is going to be a heavy month for gunpla. Both HG Banshees are being release in about two days and MG Heavyarms EW is coming out at the end of this month. Probably not going to get those anytime soon, but I am going to be visiting my hobby store later to see if they have anything of interest ^^;.

HG Jesta WIP 1

Alright, it was a beautiful afternoon so I decided to get some spray cans and put some colors on the Jesta. Got the blacks all done, and I’m going to start on the dark blue tomorrow. For the joints and other “inner frame” stuff, I’m kinda debating going with a brownish gray or regular metallic charcoal. Sorta leaning towards the metallic charcoal though. I’m going to try to get Delta Plus’s photo shot and reviewed before the new year arrives, but I’m almost done with Skyward Sword, so it might be delayed. I’m actually kind of sad that I’m nearing the end of the game…  :(

Azngunpla’s One Year Anniversary!

Wow, I can’t believe that it’s been a year since I started blogging. Actually it was on December 6, two week earlier, but better late then never. I’ve been meaning to make this post for some time, but ever since I got me Zelda: Skyward Sword, it’s been consuming my life right now. So how do I feel about blogging for a year?

After much delay

He’s finally done. Took a chance when there was a break in the bad weather and topcoat the rest of the wing binders and the shield. I will admit that some areas didn’t turn out very well. You can tell if you zoom in, but from far away he looks great. With this done and submitted to GundamGuy’s G-Shot, I can now focus on HLJ Sci-Fi competition. And complying with the rules, I won’t be showing any WIP or pictures what so ever until the winners are announced. In the mean time…

Nothing complex, just a straight repaint into the Titans color scheme. I think it’ll look cool :)

MG Delta Plus WIP 5

The past week or so has been pretty rough. Any free time I get, I’m painting Delta Plus, and then I’m dealing with school for the rest of the time. Almost got a class dropped >.< Got to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Anyways, I got most of the whites for the arms and legs done. Just need to topcoat the shoulders, feet, and work on the rest of the blue parts and I can finally call it finish.

MG Delta Plus WIP 4

He’s starting to shape up now. Working on the shield right now which I’m hoping to have done by tomorrow and start on the arms and legs. Hurray for Thanksgiving Break! :D

Of course when I’m not working on this, I’m on Modern Warfare 3 with my friends haha. Straight run for the finish now!

MG Delta Plus WIP 3

Aye yah! Only two more weeks of November and that’s all I have gotten done?! Um, yes progress has been slow, but it’s going good. Now to paint the Brilliant Blue on and see how this turns out. The beam rifle is completely done. I like the concept that I went with, but the metallic gray could have been better I think. Well, at least it’s the beam rifle and not the mobile suit lol. Onward with painting!
