Spring/Summer Gunpla Haul

Posted by Tom on June 26, 2015

I had originally set aside some time to work on some gunpla over the summer, but alas… Pretty much work everyday now haha… Anyways, my recent haul came from HLJ. I got another MG RX-78 OYW ver because to this day, it’s still my favorite Master Grade RX-78 in terms of proportions which the 2.0 and 3.0 Rx-78s don’t have in my honest opinion. Plus I’ve heard the 3.0 is a real pain in the butt when it comes to stability and pieces wanting to fall off. Everything I got here was really just the spur of the moment kind of thing lol.

2015 Shizouka Hobby Show Thoughts

Posted by Tom on May 14, 2015

I may have been gone from this blog for a while, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t keeping up with Gunpla news. And what a way to kick off the Hobby Show than show the Real Grade Gundam Astray Red Frame. Other than the strange choice of colors for the advance MS joints, its standard classic Red Frame; no Tactical Arm, but it has a beam rifle, Gerbera Straight, a shield, and two beam sabers. But I’m waiting for all those P-Bandai Gundam Astray variations.

MG Hyaku Shiki 2.0 Announced

Posted by Tom on February 24, 2015

And just when I thought 2.0s were dead because we got kits like Strike ver RM (Aka Strike 2.0) and RX-78 3.0, this Hyaku Shiki 2.0 is a pleasant surprise. I guess since Zeta Gundam had nothing special going on they couldn’t really use some other tag, so 2.0 it is.

Majora’s Mask 3D LE Skull Kid Figurine

Posted by Tom on February 19, 2015

Gunpla wasn’t the only thing I got recently. The North America Limited Edition Majora’s Mask 3D released last week. I had it shipped and delivered earlier in the week, but I finally just got to unboxing this thing. For such a small figure, it’s got some nice paint apps and details.

Thoughts on Gunpla News for November 2014

Posted by Tom on November 22, 2014

Been gone for a while and all of a sudden, BLAM! More gunpla news. Lets start with the biggest news in the last month or two, the Perfect Grade Unicorn Gundam. And first impressions upon seeing it, it looks really good. The head proportion looks a little weird, but it’s not that off putting. That knee bend though looks very unnatural.

Taking a break from my summer break of video games to give thoughts to the new announcement of Gundam Build Fighters Try.  I’d also give my feelings regarding G no Reconguista… whatever the heck that means.

Real Grade Exia Problem

Posted by Tom on June 19, 2014

Playing around with the RG Exia, and a problem surfaced. This is a problem I have with the new flexible plastic that Bandai uses now for the inner frames of their new models. While they’re more flexible and can take more bends, it’s not as stable as the old ABS frames.
