HG Delta Plus WIP 4: Some Painted Parts

Posted by Tom on March 31, 2011

Got some parts painted after I got home from school. I love this glossy look despite the fact I’ll be flat coating it. ^^;

Here’s a part from the wings. I sprayed the blue directly on the piece without primer. And the effect is that the color came out a little darker then what’s on the cap, which is what I want for some of these parts. The difference is more apparent in real life.

These parts are going to be painted tomorrow. This painting business is pretty fun. I’m hoping to invest in an air brush in the near future. :D

Thoughts on Gunpla: March 2011

Posted by Tom on March 24, 2011

Another month, more news of Gunpla. This month was slow, but rightfully so. Gotta worry about the people and the surroundings first before you can do anything else. Hopes for the speedy recovery of the Japanese people.

Now then, on to topic. The Gunpla news of this month made me smile in some ways and sorta surprised by the decisions that Bandai made. This post may be updated as clear scans are shown.

HG Delta Plus WIP 2: Snapped Together

Posted by Tom on March 23, 2011

Went through a build marathon. Here is Delta Plus snapped build. Looks pretty good. I decided that I will paint this kit after all. There are some bad nubs showing here and there. Give me a couple of days to think of a color scheme. I’m not starting another project simply because school is taking up more time then I would like.

The monthly Thoughts on Gunpla will be out whenever there are clearer pictures, or tomorrow if I feel like it. ^^;

Also the poll will be up until Saturday. After that, I’ll see which has the most votes, then start on that after I’m done with this guy.

HG Delta Plus WIP 1: Upper Torso

Posted by Tom on March 20, 2011

Man, having work on something like the Full Armor Gundam, I forgotten how easy these High Grades are. But I like to take my time, and what you see is what I finished after starting last night. ^^; Expect this thing to be finished in about 2 or 3 days, depending if I’m not swamped with school work. Sad that Spring Break is over. :(

Anyways, I’m sorta debating if I should paint this, or just topcoat this. This kit use the EXACT same purplish gray that I do not like on the MG Deathscythe Hell EW. I think it’s because the original line art had this color, and the anime version is a bluish gray, but I still don’t like it. And, before anyone ask, no I’m not painting this gold, a lot of people already done this. If push comes to shove, I’m probably gonna just topcoat this.

Review up for Full Armor Gundam

Posted by Tom on March 18, 2011

Review for the Full Armor Gundam is now up. You can go here or go to the Master Grade tab.

Also remember to vote on my next next project, as whatever wins is what I’m building after doing the HGUC Delta Plus. Voting is done on the poll in the right of the blog layout, above my recent posts.

Full Armor Gundam is finally done

Posted by Tom on March 16, 2011

Finished the topcoat process this morning. Finally glad this is done. The double sided gel wasn’t very solid, so as a precaution I dabbed some glue on the gels to make them stick better. Review coming soon.

Oh, and I’m gonna leave that poll up for about a week or so. Just to see who wants to see what. I will tell you, it will involve painting. :)

A silver lining in the dark times

Posted by Tom on March 15, 2011

Got onto yahoo and saw this article.

Man it touches me in my heart. It really is a miracle. Because these small discoveries will always give hope. And right now, the Japanese people must not give up hope. Because when you have lost hope, you lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there is always hope.

Need help with next next project

Posted by Tom on March 14, 2011

[EDIT: Poll made in the right. Vote on my next next project.]

Simply put, I can’t decide what to do. Should it be…

MG 00 Quanta or…

MG Wing Gundam.

I have all but one supply needed to start on these, but it’s a tough call. What I do plan next is the HGUC Delta Plus, but after that not so sure. I’ll put a poll to see what’s more popular.

And yes, I, as well as everyone else, knows about the March 11 earthquake and the devastation that has happened. I can only hope for the well being of the Japanese people.

MG Full Armor Gundam WIP 3: Gundam 2.0

Posted by Tom on March 10, 2011

Whew, while the armor looks so simple, it actually took a lot longer to finished then I though. Of course, it didn’t help that I was watching Gundam Unicorn Epi. 3. ^^; Anyways, here’s a comparison with the RX-78-2 Gundam Version OYW. Besides the small height advantage, the OYW has a very modern look to it compare to the retro look that the 2.0 has. But I would like to note that this color scheme so much better then the regular Gundam colors. I think it’s mostly because the legs are not all white. But I like the G3 colors more. :P

I just need to topcoat this, build the Full Armor parts, decal and topcoat and this will be done.
